ROBIN VON PLETTENBERG
CEO / CSO
Robin von Plettenberg took on the role of CEO and CSO of H-TEC SYSTEMS in 2022. He is responsible for the areas of Strategy, Sales, Services and Marketing & Communication. As an industrial engineer with a master's degree in philosophy, he initially worked as a management consultant with a focus on the automotive and mechanical engineering industries at McKinsey in Berlin, Munich and New York. Robin von Plettenberg then held various positions at MAN Energy Solutions: Head of Strategy and M&A, Head of PrimeServ Industries, the aftersales division of the turbomachinery business, and Head of Turbomachinery.
Frank Zimmermann has been with H-TEC SYSTEMS since 2017 and has successfully built up the business over the last five years as a member of the management board. As Chief Financial Officer (CFO), he is responsible for Finance, IT, HR and Legal. He has many years of experience in corporate finance and the management of corporate transactions. Before joining H-TEC SYSTEMS, he held executive positions in well-known technology groups. Frank Zimmermann brings great expertise in the context of M&A.
Marius Zasche is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at H-TEC SYSTEMS, where he has been responsible for innovation and development since March 2022. As a familiar face, Marius had already been a member of H-TEC's Advisory Board since 2020. The qualified industrial engineer now contributes his extensive expertise in his new position, which he acquired in various management positions at MAN Energy Solutions. He had been working here since 2008, and one of his last tasks was to set up the newly created product line components.
Dr. Dominik Heiss
EVP Strategy & Product
Dr. Dominik Heiss joined the H-TEC SYSTEMS management team in 2020. Since 2022, he is in charge of Strategy & Product as Executive Vice President. Before joining the company, he held various positions at MAN Energy Solutions SE, most recently responsible for the development and expansion of the energy storage business. The business graduate and Doctor of Philosophy started his professional career as a management consultant and got to know a variety of different industries. He has many years of experience, particularly in the areas of corporate strategy, M&A, product management and business development.
Dr. Joachim Herrmann
Dr. Joachim Herrmann, who has a doctorate in physics has been a part of H-TEC SYSTEMS in various functions since 2010. Until 2018, he played a decisive role in shaping both the technological developments and establishment of the company on the part of the then shareholder GP JOULE. Between 2018 and 2022 he was responsible, among other things, for development and production. Since 2022, Dr Herrmann is Executive Vice President of H-TEC SYSTEMS and entrusted with the task of fuelling the innovative strength of all employees to further develop innovative products. Previously, Dr Herrmann was a research associate at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics for several years, specialising in systems and energy studies and urban energy supply.
Michael Meister has been Chief Operating Officer (COO) at H-TEC SYSTEMS since October 2022. In this role, he is responsible for purchasing, production stack and electrolyzer, as well as quality. Michael Meister started his professional career with McKinsey & Company at consulting. During the last seven years he held several management positions at BMW. In addition to setting up a new production plant in Mexico, he was responsible for the assembly of the BMW i3 as well as steering & control of the painted body (press shop, body shop, paint shop) at the site in Leipzig.
EVP People & Culture
Sophie Kostka has been responsible for People & Culture as Executive Vice President at H-TEC SYSTEMS since November 2022. In addition to recruiting, her focus is primarily on the areas of corporate culture, building structures for growth, and strengthening the employer brand. Most recently, she was Head of HR Operations & Culture at the renewable energy provider Enpal, where she used her expertise to build up the People division.
Our Design and Development Teams
From idea, to prototype, to testing and ultimately serial production: Our design and development teams turn a vision into well a thought-out solution. With passion, motivation and strategic focus. Close exchange with the production on-site is especially important. At the H-TEC SYSTEMS sites for electrolysers (Augsburg site) and electrolysis stacks (Braak site), we evaluate each concept for industrial producibility at a very early stage. This strengthens our teamwork and makes our products even better.
Our Production and Service Teams
Constructing PEM stacks and electrolysers is technically very demanding. Our production and service teams are highly specialized and networked across departments. Their experience, know-how and skills enable seamless green hydrogen production technology. From assembly and commissioning through to after service. Close networking of production and service enables the efficient scale-up of manufacturing and supply chain. This cooperation creates not only technical synergies, but also interpersonal ones.

Listening, understanding, giving answers: These are the strengths of our sales and marketing teams in the H-TEC SYSTEMS branches in Augsburg and Braak.
