The Modular Hydrogen Platform is based on proton exchange membrane (PEM) technology, and it allows you to undertake large scale hydrogen production. Using renewable energy to power the electrolysis process, you contribute to the energy transition by turning water into green hydrogen to replace fossil fuels on an industrial scale.

How much green hydrogen can you produce?
The world needs lots of green hydrogen and demand is growing – the energy sector, process industry, aviation and marine transport are all hard at work trying to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. But not all businesses can reduce their carbon footprint through direct electrification, and where that is not possible, fossil fuels, including natural gas, must be replaced by net-zero fuels, such as green hydrogen and its derivates (produced in the power-to-x process) green ammonia, green methanol, and synthetic natural gas. That means green hydrogen production must scale up dramatically. The MHP system is available in 10 MW blocks. We can easily combine 10 blocks to achieve an electrolysis capacity of 100 MW and more.

The H-TEC SYSTEMS Modular Hydrogen Platform is a scalable indoor solution with 77% system efficiency for the industrial production of green hydrogen. Scale is achieved by combining 10 MW blocks to build systems with electrolysis capacity of 100 MW and more.
Easy installation and expansion
The system is ready for indoor installation on pre-assembled skids. Modularity simplifies scaling and reduces costs. The highly standardized 10 MW blocks are based on proven S450 stack technology. Each 10 MW block is equipped with integrated process water treatment and electric power supply. The system can be optionally equipped with fresh water treatment and hydrogen purification system.
Clean energy in high availability
System reliability is guaranteed by our ingenious redundancy and service concept: critical components are installed redundantly and less critical elements can be replaced quickly thanks to an intelligent spare parts management with short reaction times. The 10 MW stack module consists of 12 cascades. Individual cascades can be switched off for maintenance or replacement of single stacks - this way the rest of the electrolyzer plant can maintain almost full performance without restricion during this time. Hydrogen from our PEM electrolysis is emission-free and climate-friendly and can be used directly for fuel cells.
PEM stacks: the scalable core element
PEM stands for Proton Exchange Membrane. A PEM stack uses electricity to turn water into oxygen and hydrogen by electrolysis. The stack is the core working element of the electrolyzer. The more stacks you have, the more hydrogen you can produce.
Our stacks are efficient, reliable, and enable a low levelized cost of hydrogen. The hydrogen produced can be used in a wide variety of applications. We have been making them in Germany for 25 years and we are ramping up hydrogen production with a new stack factory in Hamburg with a total electrolysis capacity of up to 5 gigawatts.
Modularity increases the reliability of the electrolysis systems. There are independent controls at stack cascade level, single stacks can be exchanged quickly and easily. We offer a 360° service package with performance guarantee and 24/7 remote monitoring. Our customized maintenance contracts to ensure the best price-performance ratio.
