The H-TEC SYSTEMS ME450 electrolyzer is a proven turnkey solution for easy and efficient green hydrogen production. The unit is housed in a standard 40’ container that is easy to install. Using 1 MW of renewable electricity, you can use the ME450 to produce 450 kg/day of high purity green hydrogen – enough to fuel 90 cars.

The ME450 uses proven proton exchange membrane (PEM) technology that makes it reliable and future-proof. Thanks to the multiple stack design, excellent spare parts availability, and our extensive service offering, risks can be minimized, and costs reduced

Dispatchable power for renewable energy providers

A lot of renewable energy is wasted due to supply and demand fluctuations. When demand is low, you can turn your energy into hydrogen, so you can store it instead of losing it. Hydrogen can be transported to customers in tube trailers or cylinders, used in mobility applications, mixed into the gas grid or even in biogas operations. The ME450 can be used to generate “long-lasting energy” (in the form of H2) when energy prices are low on the spot market.

Public utilities and transport entities can use local renewable energy sources to produce green hydrogen for mobility or to mix with their natural gas supply system while also promoting strong local value chains and regional economic development. PEM: stacks of efficiency

At the core of the ME450 you find nine PEM stacks. These use electrical energy to turn water into oxygen and hydrogen by electrolysis. With a system efficiency of 75% at 30 bar pressure, the ME450 ensures a low levelized cost. The hydrogen produced has a purity level of 5.0 (99.999%) – good enough to be used directly in a fuel cell. We provide a turnkey solution that makes possible the easy integration of electricity, mobility, industry, and heating. With a heat recovery option, our system efficiency is over 90%.

Modularity for availability

Each ME450 has nine PEM stacks. This modular stack system increases the reliability of the electrolysis system. Single stacks can be exchanged quickly and easily. Our 360° service package includes a performance guarantee and 24/7 remote monitoring. You get high plant availability.
